While throwing across his body gives Herz some action on his pitches, it also costs him command. Some scouts look at the effort in his delivery and the length of his arm action and project him as a definite reliever. The 6-foot-6 right-hander’s fastball is the star of the show, typically sitting mph but reaching as high as 103. It’s an absolute laser of a heater in more ways than one; it comes in blazing fast but fairly straight, which keeps it from being a true 80-grade pitch. He drops in a high-80s slider that also draws plus grades and forbids anyone from thinking they can sit on straight heat. His changeup and curveball still need work, but the former at least helps his starting chances.

He has the most live arm in Tar Heel State's prep class, though there's debate as to his long-term role and whether he's signable away from a North Carolina commitment. Herz gained about 5 mph on his fastball as a prep senior, working at mph and touching 95. His lean 6-foot-2 frame could add some strength and he could wind up sitting in the mid-90s once he matures physically. Vaquero remains more advanced from the left side (where he has a more open stance) as he acclimates to switch-hitting; he struck out in 40 percent of his right-handed plate appearances over a relatively small 2023 sample. He shows continued patience at the dish though, and as he returns to the Carolina League for his age-19 season, the Nats will continue to exhibit their own patience in his ascent. A native of Cuba, Vaquero comes from an athletic family -- his mother is an Olympic swimmer and his father is a competitor in judo.

The 6-foot-2 right-hander gets right on hitters with a 95- to 98-mph fastball they have difficulty picking up at the top of the zone out of his over-the-top release. Like a typical power reliever, he can fire heater after heater, daring batters to touch it, until they either do or he sprinkles in an off-speed pitch. His low-80s breaking ball has enough two-place movement to generate whiffs too, while a high-80s changeup offers another look, though it’s often too firm to be more than an average pitch. The former Missouri Valley Conference standout also sports above-average arm strength and has put it to good use with a 31.1 percent career caught-stealing rate in the pros entering 2023. There are concerns about how much offensive impact the 5-foot-9, 160-pound Nunez will have, and he didn't ease them by posting a .565 OPS with an excessive 2.8 groundout/airout ratio in his pro debut. A switch-hitter with a better swing from the right side, he'll never have much power but will need to get stronger so he can keep pitchers honest by developing the ability to drive the ball on occasion.
Where is the Brady Bunch house located?
A short-arm-action in his delivery puts that projection into question, and inconsistencies with his location don’t help either. Few Nationals pitchers need innings more than Rutledge, or else it could be time to start looking at him as a power bullpen arm beyond this season. Rutledge’s low-80s curveball is behind his slider but has above-average potential, and club officials are optimistic about the right-hander’s capacity for developing a usable changeup. Herz succeeded Christian Jayne (now at East Carolina) as the quarterback and top baseball prospect at Sanford High (Fayetteville, N.C.) this spring.
His competitive nature also would serve him well in high-leverage situations later in games. Because the 5-foot-11 Saenz lacks physicality, many scouts believe his best long-term role is as a multi-inning reliever. However, he played more games than ever in right field in 2023 because of his organization’s logjam in the middle of the grass, and his arm can work there. De La Rosa is still only entering his age-22 season, so he has time to make adjustments, but he’s already been on the wrong end of roster churn once.

Teenage Position Prospects With Standout Data
Lighter wood hues paired with brightly colored cushions was a popular look for 1970s families. Mike and Carol Brady's bedroom on "The Brady Bunch" was one of a few different bedrooms the designers were responsible for recreating. Heading back to the days of quilts, large lampshades, and wooden nightstands, pieces of this bedroom are classic enough to be used in a room today paired with modern stylings.
Missouri State is known for producing pitchers -- a dozen big leaguers selected in the last 18 years -- but has also had a position player selected in the top five rounds of three of the previous four Drafts. Millas didn’t extend that streak last June, but he was taken in the seventh round by the A’s. He rivaled Baylor's Shea Langeliers as the best defensive catcher in college baseball heading into the Draft, but he didn’t get to show off his skills during his first pro summer because of an elbow injury.
White is still a work in progress at first base and won’t be a threat to steal bases, solidifying power and patience as his saving graces. But it’s also worth noting that he was one of only six players aged 19 or younger who received more than 250 plate appearances at High-A in 2023. Everyone involved with White’s development acknowledges 2024 will be a big, deciding year for him.

The Nats got Morales some time at first base with Harrisburg as he shared the dirt with Brady House, but they still view the former Miami star as a potential everyday third baseman if results hold in his first full season. The Nationals selected him in the second round and went above slot to sign him for $2.6 million. Standing in at 6-foot-4, House is built like his last name and doesn’t need to do much at the plate from a quiet load to tap into his considerable raw power from the right side. However, the Nationals do have a track record of calling up young prospects early in the season. Bryce Harper made his major league debut in late April while Juan Soto was called up in the later part of May. House’s card collecting obsession started in 2022 as he searched for ways to fill his free time during his first full professional season.
Cavalli knows how to use his powerful 6-foot-4 frame and lightning-quick right arm to generate easy velocity. He sat comfortably in the mid-90s and topped out at 99 mph with his riding fastball in his first pro exposure. Cavalli can make hitters look bad with his mph curveball, a plus pitch that he throws with power and depth, and he has developed an upper-80s slider/cutter that has similar out-pitch potential. An upper-80s changeup that Cavalli throws with conviction gives him yet another weapon, and some within the organization think it could become the right-hander’s best secondary offering.

The A’s were excited to get a look at Millas in what would have been his first full season in the organization, and it’s to his credit that he developed to a point where he was wanted in a Major League trade.
If all goes according to plan for Clemson, the Tigers will replace one potential first-round pick at shortstop (Logan Davidson) with another in Nunez. The only question is whether Nunez will make it there because he might be the best defensive shortstop in the 2019 Draft. If he convinces pro teams he can produce at the plate, they probably won't let him make it to college. He has silky smooth actions, quick hands and feet as well as the arm strength to make any throw from any angle.
